Baked Chicken with Indian Spices !!

I have recently started with baking and I am totally in love with it !! This baked chicken is my favourite recipe as it’s very easy and utterly delicious. Cooking this recipe needs minimum supervision thus you can multitask while chicken is cooking in the oven 🙂 Let’s jump to the recipe quickly..


500 gms chicken (I prefer drumsticks, thigh pieces)

1 tbsp oil (use any oil, I use mustard oil)

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

1/2 tsp turmeric

1/2 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder

1 tsp coriander powder

Salt to taste (Appr need 1 tsp)

Chopped coriander leaves (optional)


Wash chicken pieces and make 2-3 slits to each chicken pieces. Now mix ginger garlic paste and all spices in a separate vessel. Coat this mixture to chicken pieces properly. You can add 2-3 drops of oil while marination. Keep aside marinated chicken for 3-4 hours, I usually keep it for 4 hours.

Preheat the oven to 180 degree celsius, in mean time take baking tray and grease the bottom with oil. You can use parchment paper as well. Arrange the marinated chicken to baking tray. I usually sprinkle chopped coriander over the top but it is completely optional. Once oven is preheated, keep baking tray in oven for 45-50 minutes. Check in between and flip the chicken if required. Baked chicken will be ready in 50 minutes, time varies based on size or quantity of chicken. So after 45 min check if chicken is ready or not.
