This is spicy and tangy prawns recipe is perfect for weekend lunch. It goes well with rice bhakri (flatbread) or any roti/chapati or bread. Let’s check recipe of Prawns Tawa Fry…
150 gms raw King Prawns
1 large onion/ 2 medium onions
3-4 green chillies
1 tbsp of oil
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp salt (adjust as per taste)
Coriander for garnishing
Take raw prawns and wash it properly. Marinate it with 1/2 tsp turmeric,1/2 kashmiri chilli and 1/2 tsp chilli powder. Heat the pan on medium flame. Once pan is heated, add oil and add chopped onions to it. Onions should be finely chopped before adding it to the pan. Stir onions properly and once it turns translucent, add chopped green chillies along with all remaining dry spices. You can adjust chilli powder as per your taste, I prefer spicy prawns hence added accordingly. Mix everything well and let it cook for 5-10 minutes until spices are cooked properly.
Now, add kokum to it and mix well. If you don’t have kokum then you can replace it with tomatoes, add 2 chopped tomatoes instead. Kokum basically used to give tangy taste.Take marinated prawns and add to the pan. Stir everything properly to ensure prawns are coated with onion mixture. Add little water to avoid burning of spices (only if required).Cook it for another ten minutes on medium flame, until all water evaporates. Prawns won’t take much time to cook.
Our Prawns Tawa Fry is ready, garnish is with coriander leaves. Squeeze lemon juice if you like and serve it with any flatbread.
