Broccoli Salad

Broccoli is one of my favourite green vegetable purely because of its benefits. It is superfood as its source of fibre, protein, iron, potassium, calcium, selenium and magnesium also contains vitamins like A, C, E, K and B vitamins including folic acid.

To include as part of diet, I used to roast broccoli and used to have it as side dish. But wanted to try some other recipe with this superfood as I am not fancy about using broccoli and making any indian style gravy. So come up with this interesting salad and it really tastes yum. You can have it as side dish or may be just like that.

Ingredients:

200 gms of broccoli

1 medium sized onion

1/2 bird eye chilli

1 tsp vegetable oil (you can use any oil)

1 tsp soya sauce

1 tbsp honey

1 tsp malt vinegar

salt as per taste

1/2 tsp sesame seeds

Method:

Cut the broccoli into pisces, use florets as well as stems, also slice the onion. Heat the pan and take oil. Now add broccoli pisces and onion slices into the pan. Stir it, make a note that we need to slightly stir broccoli and onions. Do not overcook it, else vegetables will loose its crunchiness. At the end add chillies into the pan. I used bird eye chilli which was very hot hence used only half of it. But you can adjust chilli as per taste of it.

In a separate bowl, take soya sauce, add honey and malt vinegar to it, mix it well. Drizzle this sauce over stirred broccoli mixture. At the end garnish it with sesame seeds. And our broccoli salad is ready !!.
